Tour Overview

The tour begins by visiting Etna’s lateral craters at an altitude of 2000 meters, where you will walk around ancient craters and on old eruptions. The route continues along a path where it will be possible to admire the magnificent Valle del Bove, an enormous caldera on the eastern part of the volcano.

Afterward, we will explore a lava cave with flashlights and helmets. And, before heading to Alcantara River, we will do a small tasting of local products.

After the excursion, you will take a lunch break, and then we will head to Alcantara Gorges. It is a natural canyon and the best example of columnar basalt. At an altitude of 1250m, the gorge landscape of small waterfalls of clear water surrounded by rich local vegetation is breathtaking. During the summer season, we highly recommend bringing your bathing suit.
