ETNA TREKKING

Together with our guide you will walk along a trail surrounded by endemic vegetation of the volcano, which will take you to the crest of the Valle del Bove, the huge caldera that dominates the eastern slope of the Etna.

Etna Taormina

We will walk up to 2000 meters and explore some of Etna’s side craters. Equipped with helmets and flashlights, you can adventure inside a volcanic cave. A unique landscape of craters, lava flows, volcanic ash, and local vegetation will leave you speechless.

 

Then, we will explore a lava cave with flashlights and helmets. And before heading to Taormina, we will do a small tasting of local products.

 

After lunch break, we will arrive in Taormina, where you will have two hours to visit the town unaccompanied. Do not miss out on attractions such as the Greek Theatre, the public gardens, or the incredible panoramic views of Isola Bella.

Noto Antica – Cava Carosello

n this tour we will visit the ancient town of Noto destroyed by the earthquake of 11 January 1693. The city, located on Monte Alveria, is immersed in a unique and suggestive natural environment. We will follow the oldest paths and cross the sixteenth-century walls that survived the earthquake.

From the city we will then move to the spectacular Carosello quarry, stopping shortly at the Asinaro river. Continuing along the path we will explore the ancient tanneries carved into the rock, symbol of the economic prosperity of the past.

ETNA SUNSET

Crossing ancient lava flows adorned by yellow-flowered gorse shrubs and sporadically growing green vegetation. The tour starts in a lava cave, where we will safely walk around below the volcano’s surface with flashlights and helmets.

Then, we will continue our next part of the walking tour to 2000m venturing in lunar landscapes, lava bombs, and craters, all while admiring a breathtaking view of the Ionian coast, from the Gulf of Catania to Calabria. The sunset light will make your experience unforgettable!

ETNA MORNING

Mt. Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe at 3,350m and with a lunar landscape and untamed wilderness, provides the perfect setting for a unique excursion experience. Just a warning – The forge of Hephaestus never closes!

The excursion on Etna starts at the Silvestri Craters created by the eruption of 1892 on the south side of the volcano. Then the route continues along a path where you can admire the magnificent Valle del Bove, a massive caldera on the eastern part of the volcano.

Afterward, we will explore a lava cave with flashlights and helmets. And, before heading to Catania, we will do a small tasting of local product

ETNA & ALCANTARA RIVER TOUR

The tour begins by visiting Etna’s lateral craters at an altitude of 2000 meters, where you will walk around ancient craters and on old eruptions. The route continues along a path where it will be possible to admire the magnificent Valle del Bove, an enormous caldera on the eastern part of the volcano.

Afterward, we will explore a lava cave with flashlights and helmets. And, before heading to Alcantara River, we will do a small tasting of local products.

After the excursion, you will take a lunch break, and then we will head to Alcantara Gorges. It is a natural canyon and the best example of columnar basalt. At an altitude of 1250m, the gorge landscape of small cascading clear water surrounded by rich local vegetation is breathtaking. During the summer season, we highly recommend bringing your bathing suit.

ETNA & WINE TASTING TOUR

ETNA TOUR 3000m

On this tour, you can reach 3000m and see astonishing and unique lunar landscapes, active summit craters with steam, volcanic degassing, and small explosions. You will ride a cable car to reach this altitude and get a panoramic view of Etna. A minibus and a volcanological guide will wait for you at the end of the cable car ride to discover the secrets of Etna.

Afterward, we will explore a lava cave with flashlights and helmets. And before heading to Catania, we will do a small tasting of local products.

*The cable car ride, minivan and volcanologist at 3000 meters are not included in the price. These additional services will be paid at the cable car station.

TOUR PANTALICA

Pantalica is the most impressive prehistoric and paleo-Christian town in Europe, located along a canyon between the Anapo and Calcinara rivers. There you can see tombs, caves, the remains of the town and even Byzantine churches that corroborate the ancient presence of man in this river valley. Currently the place is considered the largest necropolis in Europe and for this reason it is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

TOUR TAORMINA – CASTELMOLA

The tour starts in Taormina, one of the first Greek colonies on the east coast of Sicily. The unique and breathtaking historic town centre has both Baroque and Mediaeval architectural styles. The Greek Theatre and the impressive view of Mt. Etna is something you cannot miss.

Passing through Giardini Naxos, you can admire the picturesque view of Isola Bella, also known as the “Pearl of the Ionian Sea”.

The tour ends in Castelmola, a village recognized as part of the Italian cultural heritage.
