It is a place of particular value for the presence of marshes that serve as a resting place in the migration of birds such as: flamingos, herons, waders and storks. Under the archaeological and architectural side you will explore rests of the Hellenic, Byzantine, Medieval and Modern Age.
Marzamemi is a fishing village made with yellow stone houses arranged around two natural harbors.
The history of Marzamemi begins with the arrival of the Arab domination in Sicily, when they built here the tonnara, which for many centuries was the main of the entire Eastern Sicily. Over the years the village was developed by the Prince of Villadorata who had the whole village built around the tonnara.
To complete our journey we will stop in Noto, the most beautiful city of Sicilian baroque, known as “the stone garden” for the architectural beauty of its palaces. We will visit the Noto city center, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2002.
